Water sports club 1921
The water sports club 1921 (WSV 1921) is a Berlin sailing club on Langen See in the Karolinenhof location in Schmöckwitz .
history
On April 17, 1921, water and fishing enthusiasts got together and founded the angling sports club "Rotfeder" Schmöckwitz. At the end of the same year it was renamed “Watersport Club 1921” Schmöckwitz. The purpose of the association according to the statutes was:
“To provide berths for the friends of water sports at the lowest possible prices, as well as accommodation for the boat material and other equipment necessary for practicing water sports. To obtain the permits required to practice water sports, and to provide the members with economic advantages by jointly purchasing all materials that are needed. All politics are excluded ”.

Today the association has around 270 members, making it one of the medium to large ones within the German Sailing Association .
The WSV 1921 organizes five larger regattas a year.
- Hugo Bräuer Prize: Optimist , Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, and 420 dinghy
- One-hand trophy: Olympic dinghies
- Willi Lehmann Prize: 5.5m IC , Soling , Yngling
- Blue ribbon: H-Jolle (one of the oldest regattas in Germany, first competition in 1947)
- Keelboat cup: after yardstick
The WSV 1921 maintains a youth department. There is training for the following boat classes:
- Optimist ,
- Laser standard,
- Laser Radial
- Laser 4.7
- 420 dinghy
A Yngling is available for use as a club-owned boat for seniors without their own boat.
