Bernadette Bürgi
Bernadette Bürgi (* 1974 in Sarnen , resident in Lungern ) is a Swiss film producer .
Life
Bernadette Bürgi grew up in Sarnen. In the college theater of the canton school Obwalden she played in several performances. She completed her studies in economics and art history at the University of Freiburg with a Master of Arts in Marketing and Management and a diploma in journalism. She did her doctorate on Corporate Television 2.0 at the University of Bern .
Bürgi worked in marketing and public relations. In 2007 she traveled to Los Angeles in connection with her dissertation , where she took film courses and assisted an experienced producer. In 2008, she founded the production company Flying Box Productions together with the Chinese-American director Lulu Wang . The two developed and produced the original script for the film Posthumous together . Filming began in autumn 2012. With Jack Huston and Brit Marling , they were able to hire two stars for the film. The first work, which was produced for less than 5 million dollars, premiered on October 4, 2014 at the Zurich Film Festival .
Since 2004, Bürgi has been a member of the board of directors of the family business Guber Natursteine AG and other family businesses. She lives in Los Angeles, Zurich , Berlin and Sarnen.
