Jack Alexander Huston (born December 7, 1982 in London , England ) is a British actor .

Life

Family and education

Huston was born to Walter Anthony Huston and Margot Lavinia Cholmondeley (* 1950). His mother is British and belongs to the nobility . His father is American. His mother is the daughter of George Hugh Cholmondeley, 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley (1919–1990) and his wife Lavinia Margaret Leslie. His father worked as a resident lawyer . Huston's parents married in 1978. The marriage was later divorced.

Huston's paternal grandfather was American film director John Huston and his great-grandfather was actor Walter Huston . Jack Huston is thus the nephew of the actors Anjelica Huston and Danny Huston , as well as David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley , a brother of his mother.

By his own account, Huston wanted to be an actor when he was six when he played the title role in Peter Pan in a school play. He attended the renowned British college Hurtwood House .

Acting career

Huston began his film career in 2004 under the direction of Robert Dornhelm with a minor role in the American television film Spartacus . He played Flavius, an assistant to Senator Agrippa. He made his cinema debut in 2005 in the horror film Dead Next Door . In 2006 he starred alongside Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen in the biopic Factory Girl ; he played the role of the American poet and filmmaker Gerard Malanga . This was followed by roles in the films Shrooms (2007), Outlander (2008; as partner of Jim Caviezel ) and alongside Kevin Spacey in the independent film Shrink (2009).

In 2010 he had a small role in the movie Eclipse - Bis (s) zum Abendrot , the third part of the Twilight saga. He played Royce King II, the cruel and unloving ex-fiancé of the film character Rosalie, and was one of the darker characters of the Twilight saga. According to his own statements, Huston has a particular affinity for the fantasy film genre . In 2010 he appeared in the biopic Mr. Nice alongside Rhys Ifans and Chloë Sevigny .

In the US television series Boardwalk Empire Huston in 2010 played the role of veteran Richard Harrow, one in the First World War severely wounded and cruelly disfigured sniper , who now has to wear a face mask, and in the time of Prohibition in the United States for Gangster is. Huston has been in a relationship with US model Shannan Click since 2011 . Huston and Click have a daughter and a son (* 2013 and 2016).
