No place without you (Original title: The Longest Ride ) is an American drama film directed by George Tillman, Jr. from 2015 . It is the literary film adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by Nicholas Sparks , in which Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood play the leading roles.

No place without you tells the fate of two connected couples:
Luke, a former bullrider champion, is planning his comeback when he meets college student Sophia. Her love is not a lucky star, because the art historian has an internship offer, but would have to go to New York for her dream job. One evening when both are on their way back from a date, they witness a car accident. In a car parked on the side of the road, Ira Levinson is trapped in his vehicle. He is freed by Luke and taken to the hospital by the couple. Before that, Sophia had recovered a box that Ira really wanted to have with her.
It turns out that Ira Levinson is a 90-year-old man who lost his wife, Ruth, a teacher, some time ago. In the hospital, Sophia spends a lot of time with Ira, reading him the letters in which Ira describes his relationship with Ruth and, as he recovers from the aftermath of the accident, remembers the good time together. But he also witnessed the terrible experiences of the Second World War and was injured in the war, as a result of which he was unable to procreate. The relationship between Ruth and Ira was put to the test. The romantic letters that Ira wrote to his wife for a lifetime also change Sophia and Luke's relationship.
The young lovers are facing great challenges. After his rodeo accident, Luke wants to get back to the top and fights his way through all competitions until the final. Sophia uses her internship to advance her career. However, as love blossoms between the two of them, they find that their ambitions in life drive them apart. In the end, Luke takes part in the finale without Sophia's support. Meanwhile, Sophia is informed of his death by Ira's lawyer. Sophia and Luke each receive an invitation to auction the art collection that Ruth and Ira have put together over the course of their lives.
They both meet again at the Levinsons' inheritance auction. Impressed by the great love story of Ruth and Ira, Luke buys the "Portrait of Ruth", which was painted by a student of Ruth when he was around nine years old. After the successful completion of the purchase, attorney Howard Sanders reveals to those present the last will of Ira Levinson, according to which the heir to the entire, very valuable art collection should become the one who bought the "Portrait of Ruth" - so now Luke.
The reunion at the auction shows Luke and Sophia that they are meant for each other and can find a way to combine their different goals in life. In particular, Sophia can work as a curator of the Levinson Collection.

The script is based on the novel The Longest Ride (German book title: No place without you ) by Nicholas Sparks . It is the tenth film adaptation of a book by Sparks. Scott Eastwood is the son of actor and director Clint Eastwood , Oona Chaplin is the daughter of Geraldine Chaplin , her grandfather was Charlie Chaplin .
The movie was released in the United States on April 10, 2015. In Germany, the film was released on April 30, 2015.
