Career

NFL

The Chicago Bears selected Berrian in 2004 in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft . He was primarily signed as a substitute and came in his first season only to sporadic appearances, in which he scored two touchdowns . In the 2005 season he was only allowed to play twice from the start as a perspective player, an injury meant that he was missed five games. He didn't manage a touchdown this season.

In 2006 , Bernard Berrian became one of the most effective wide receivers in the Bears squad and a specialist in long passes. After an injury-related failure, which only lasted one game, he did not come back quite as strong. He was, however, measured by the balls caught, second best wide receiver of the Chicago Bears behind Muhsin Muhammad . The team managed to move into Super Bowl XLI , where Berrian caught four passes for 38 yards . In the 2007 season he got 951 yards of space and five touchdowns.

In March 2008, Bernard Berrian moved to the Minnesota Vikings , where he immediately fought for a regular place. In the game against his old employer, the Chicago Bears, he caught a 99 yard touchdown pass from Gus Frerotte , setting the old record. Overall, the 2008 season was his most successful, with 1,000 yards of space gained and seven touchdowns. In 2009, he got only four touchdowns and 618 yards under quarterback Brett Favre .
