Bernard King (born December 4, 1956 in Brooklyn , New York ) is a former American basketball player who played the position of small forward at a height of 2.01 meters . He was active in the US professional league NBA from 1977 to 1993 .

career

In the 1977 NBA draft King was selected by the New York Nets ( New Jersey Nets from the beginning of the 1977/78 season ) in seventh place. In 1978 he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team for his achievements in the first year of his professional career .

In his career he was nominated four times for the NBA All-Star Game . He was elected twice to the All-NBA First Team and once each to the All-NBA Second and All-NBA Third Team. In 1984/85 he had a points average of 32.9 in 55 games.

On September 8, 2013, King was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame .
