Bernard Lamy (born June 15, 1640 in Le Mans , † January 29, 1715 in Rouen ) was a French philosopher and mathematician .

Life

Lamy became an oratorian in 1658 and a priest in 1667. He was then professor at the Humaniora in Vendôme and Juilly . In 1671 he became professor of philosophy in Saumur and Angers , in 1676 in Grenoble and in 1686 in Paris . In 1689 he was deposed.
