Bernat Sola Pujol (born September 5, 1965 in Mataró ) is a former Spanish ski jumper .
Career
Sola made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup for the 1983/84 season . He jumped his first World Cup on December 30, 1983 in Oberstdorf to kick off the Four Hills Tournament 1983/84 . However, he was unsuccessful in all the jumping competitions of the tour and only ended up in the back places.
At the 1984 Olympic Winter Games , Sola jumped 56th on the normal hill and 50th on the large hill. The following years, like the first year, were unsuccessful for Sola. It wasn't until January 24, 1987 that he was able to win two World Cup points for the first time in 14th place in Sapporo . However, it was the only time he had won World Cup points in his career. At the end of the 1986/87 season he was 78th in the overall World Cup ranking.
Despite the failures, he was again part of the Spanish squad at the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 and finished jumping on the normal hill on the 57th and jumping on the large hill on the 51st place. After the 1989/90 season Sola ended his active career in the ski jumping World Cup and started another season in the Continental Cup . But because there was no success there either, he finally ended his active ski jumping career in 1992.
Sola is the only Spanish ski jumper who could score points in the ski jumping World Cup. He is also the only Spanish ski jumper to have twice participated in the Olympic Games. He is thus the most successful Spanish ski jumper of all time.
