Bernd Büch

Bernd Büch (* 1948 ) is a German criminal and is one of the most dangerous criminals in Germany . He became known as the "double murderer of Sennewitz".

From 1965 to 1972, Büch served seven years in prison for fornication with children in two cases. The year he was released, he raped a woman and was sentenced to five years in prison again. In 1978 he again committed rape and was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison. Because it was considered dangerous repeat offenders, which was additionally secured custody arranged. After he escaped from prison, he raped a woman and seriously injured her. He was arrested and sentenced to 13 years in prison in 1983. He managed to escape again, attempting a manslaughter and in 1985 was sentenced to 10 years in prison with subsequent preventive detention. In 1986 he fled during a guarded walk and raped another woman in Düsseldorf . After he was caught, he was sentenced to five years in prison in 1987.

In April 1997, Büch was transferred from the Aachen prison to the penal system of the Düren psychiatric clinic for therapy . The psychiatrist Elisabeth Pfaff confirmed that she had prepared the positive report because, according to her records, Büch was to be released from prison in 2003. “You had to try therapy.” However, the enforcement files show that Büch's prison sentence would not have expired until 2023. The miscalculation wasn't the only glitch. The doctor does not want to have known that Büch should remain in custody after serving his sentence. This would have prevented a transfer to the penal system.

On April 15, 1998, Büch managed to escape using helpers while visiting the dentist. Shortly thereafter, he broke into a house in Sennewitz , killed the 46-year-old family man with two head shots and strangled his 71-year-old mother. He then held the 16-year-old daughter and her 42-year-old mother captive for 17 hours, abused and raped both of them several times, before he fled to Leipzig in a taxi that morning with the family's stolen cash. Two months later he was arrested in Oberissigheim , near the Hessian city of Hanau . He could be identified as the perpetrator based on the fingerprints left in the taxi .

On March 30, 1999, the 4th criminal chamber of the Halle (Saale) regional court sentenced him to life imprisonment with subsequent preventive detention for double murder, hostage-taking, rape and sexual abuse, and determined the severity of the guilt. The court sentenced the "Sennewitz murderer" to pay the two surviving victims additional compensation for pain and suffering of 50,000 marks each . He is in the Aachen correctional facility .

Due to Büch's flight, Minister of Social Affairs Axel Horstmann ordered the establishment of dental treatment rooms in all forensic clinics in North Rhine-Westphalia .
