Bernd Hitzler (born January 17, 1957 in Aalen ) is a German CDU politician . From 2004 to 2016 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1977 at the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Aalen, Bernd Hitzler completed an apprenticeship with the city administration of Aalen from 1977 to 1979. He then went on to study at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Stuttgart, which he completed in 1981 with a degree in administrative management . He then worked until 1983 as a district inspector at the district office of the Rems-Murr district in Waiblingen and from 1983 to 1986 as a specialist in finance for the municipality of Hermaringen .

Political activity

Bernd Hitzler was local chairman of the Junge Union Aalen and district press officer of the Junge Union Ostalbkreis from 1982 to 1986 . In 1986 he was elected mayor of the community of Dischingen . He held this office until August 31, 2006.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2001 , he ran in constituency 24 Heidenheim as a substitute for Ingeborg Gräßle . Since these in the 2004 European elections to the European Parliament was elected, he moved in July of the same year for her in the parliament after.
