Bernd Karwofsky (born March 17, 1945 in Klingenthal ) is a former German ski jumper .
The for the SC Dynamo Klingenthal launching Karwofsky launched for the first time at the Four Hills Tournament 1965/66 at international level. He immediately reached tenth place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble he reached 54th place in the individual from the normal hill for the GDR. He was in 33rd place after the first run, but fell in the second run at a distance of 67 meters. At the Four Hills Tournament 1968/69 , which started in December of the same year, he was able to place himself in the 27th place overall after good individual results in the midfield. Before the start of the 1969/70 winter sports season, the only 24-year-old athlete announced his retirement from competitive sports. He started studying at the Pedagogical Institute in Zwickau. Karwofsky was able to achieve impressive results again at the GDR championships in 1971 in Johanngeorgenstadt for his university sports community . On the normal as well as on the large hill he took a respectable 5th place. He was one of the last Nordic skiers to take top positions even though they did not start for a sports club.
