Bernd Kaufholz

Bernd Kaufholz (born October 31, 1952 in Magdeburg , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a German journalist and book author. From 1976 to 2012 he worked for the Magdeburger Volksstimme , from 2012 to April 2016 in the press and public relations department of the state government of Saxony-Anhalt. Since October 2017 he has been a reporter for Volksstimme in Magdeburg again.

Life

From 1973 onwards, Kaufholz initially worked as a machining technician in the "Erich Weinert" measuring device factory in Magdeburg. From 1976 he worked at Volksstimme , first as a trainee, then as an editorial staff member in the business department and in the district editorial offices of Magdeburg and Wanzleben. From 1980 to 1983 he completed a distance learning course at the technical college for journalism in Leipzig . In 1993 he was appointed chief reporter for the Volksstimme. The editor-in-chief assigned Kaufholz some special tasks, such as foreign assignments in war and crisis areas (including Bosnia and Herzegovina , Democratic Republic of the Congo , Kosovo , Afghanistan ).

Since October 30, 2002 he has been Honorary Commissioner of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, awarded by Interior Minister Klaus Jeziorsky (CDU). He was promoted to "honorary chief commissioner" by Saxony-Anhalt's interior minister Holger Stahlknecht (CDU) on August 25, 2011 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the State Criminal Police Office "for many years of service as a reporter in special criminal cases as well as for reporting on the work of the Saxony police force. Anhalt ”.

In August 2012 there was a change to the press and public relations department of the state government of Saxony-Anhalt. From September 2014 to April 2016, Kaufholz worked for the: State Road Construction Authority Saxony-Anhalt (subordinate to the Ministry for State Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt) in the field of external and internal communication. From May 1, 2016 to October 15, 2017 he worked as a freelance journalist. Since October 16, 2017, he has been working again as a reporter for the editorial team of Volksstimme Magdeburg.
