The state road construction authority of Saxony-Anhalt (LSBB) is a higher state authority and has existed since April 1, 2012 on the basis of the decision of the state government of March 20 of the same year. The LSBB thus took over the road administration tasks that were previously part of the Landesbetrieb Bau. The supervisory authority is the Ministry for State Development and Transport Saxony-Anhalt . The headquarters of the LSBB is based in Magdeburg . The LSBB employs around 1400 people in Saxony-Anhalt. The authority's president is Uwe Langkammer.

tasks

The LSBB Sachsen-Anhalt is primarily responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the road network. Specifically, this concerns the federal motorways (710 km), the federal highways (2193 km) and the state roads (4026 km) as well as more than 3000 buildings, including 2292 bridges, 112 noise barriers and 512 traffic sign bridges.

On the basis of administrative agreements with three districts (Mansfelder Land, Wittenberg, Jerichower Land), the state road construction authority also looks after 778 kilometers of district roads (as of January 1, 2014).

Other tasks of the LSBB include the testing of highly sensitive measuring devices that are used in road construction ("calibration center"), the testing of heavy-duty transports, the maintenance of traffic sign bridges on the federal motorways and the winter road service.
