The Autobahn Directorate North Bavaria ( ABDNB ) is a central state authority subordinate to the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport, with its headquarters in Nuremberg and offices in Bayreuth , Fürth and Würzburg .

It is responsible for all motorways in northern Bavaria , consisting of the Franconian administrative districts of Upper , Middle and Lower Franconia as well as parts of Upper Palatinate and Upper Bavaria . In total, the 14 motorway maintenance depots of the Northern Bavaria motorway authorities oversee a network with a length of 1,316 kilometers with 3,200 traffic structures. However, the building contractor is the federal government, which provides the federal states with the funds. From January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2016, the North Bavarian Autobahn Directorate was subordinate to the State Building Directorate.

President is Reinhard Pirner. The sister authority is the Autobahn Directorate South Bavaria with its headquarters in Munich .
