Bernd Kolb

Bernd Kolb (born November 21, 1962 in Aalen ) is a German entrepreneur.

Live and act

In 1988 Bernd Kolb founded the “ID advertising agency” together with Jürgen Buschbaum, from which ID Media later emerged. In 1993 he developed the first advertising Internet portal in Germany for the West cigarette brand (online 1994). Kolb designed the first German e-commerce platform for the travel company TUI (online 1995). In 1998 Kolb was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the SPD. In 1999 he led ID Media to the stock exchange (Neuer Markt).

In 2005, Kolb sold his shares in ID Media and moved to Deutsche Telekom as board member for innovation and end devices . In 2000, after the resignation of Wolfgang Keuntje, he was acted as CEO of T-Online. However, Thomas Holtrop was preferred. At the beginning of 2007, Kolb left the board at his own request.

In the historic old town of Marrakech , Kolb had a 400-year-old riad converted into the AnaYela Hotel.

In 2008 Bernd Kolb founded a management consultancy based in Berlin. In 2010 he and his wife founded the Club of Marrakesh , a global, interdisciplinary network. Kolb gives lectures on global challenges. The first German edition of the US technology magazine Wired in 2011 counts Kolb among the eleven future-oriented German personalities.
