Bernd Loessner

Bernd Lößner (born May 27, 1943 - † February 6, 2014 ) was a German pharmacologist and toxicologist . He worked as a professor and acting institute director at the Medical Academy Magdeburg (MAM) and was its eighth and penultimate rector from 1989 to 1990 .

Live and act

Bernd Loessner in 1969 with the thesis the sympathomimetic effects of monoamine oxidase inhibitors from the series of Phenylalkylhydrazine over at the Medical Academy of Magdeburg doctorate . In 1979 he completed his habilitation with the text Protein Synthesis in Rat Brain Tissue in Adaptive Processes. also in Magdeburg under Hansjürgen Matthies .

In October 1989, Bernd Lößner was elected as the successor to Rolf-Dieter Koch as Rector of MAM. He held this position until his voluntary resignation in 1990.
After Matthies retired in 1990, Lößner took over the provisional management of the Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology at the university until 1992. In 1992 Lößner left the university and worked as a resident toxicologist in Beelitz.

In addition, he was on the scientific advisory board of the Action against Recklessness and Discrimination (AgRuD) patient advice center of the German Society for Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (DGMCS) eV.

Bernd Lößner died on February 6, 2014 at the age of 70 and was buried in Magdeburg's Westfriedhof .
