Andulo is a small town in Angola , in southwestern Africa .

history

An important Catholic mission had been located here since 1933. Andulo was raised to a small town ( Vila ) on July 13, 1971 , still under Portuguese colonial administration .

In the course of the Angolan Civil War (1975-2002) that broke out after independence in 1975 , the FAPLA, the MPLA's armed forces , took over the mission and expelled the clergy. The UNITA then captured the mission and taught here a base one on which their leader Jonas Savimbi was staying frequently.
