Bernd Sproedt

Bernd Sproedt (born May 26, 1942 in Karlsruhe ) is a former German diplomat .

Life

After studying law at the universities of Heidelberg and Berlin, which he after a dissertation on a subject of international law with the promotion of Dr. iur. graduated in 1971, he worked as a financial assessor in the financial administration of the state of Baden-Württemberg . After joining the Foreign Service in 1974, he was employed at the Foreign Office and at the embassies in Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica and Spain. From 1999 to 2001 he was head of the Southern Latin America Department at the Foreign Office in Bonn and Berlin. From 2001 to August 2005 Sproedt was the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bolivia . He then headed the German Embassy in Quito ( Ecuador ) until his retirement in 2007 .
