Bernd Wiesemann (born August 4, 1938 in Düsseldorf ; † August 10, 2015 there ) was a German composer , pianist , music teacher and conceptual artist .

Life

Bernd Wiesemann studied piano with Alexander Kaul at the Robert Schumann Institute in Düsseldorf .

Since the mid-1970s he was the first to advocate the children's piano (also known as toy piano) as a concert instrument, for which he also composed, for example “Seven Miniatures” (1980), “Petite Suite ” (1987) and “Bauhaus- Suite "(1994). Numerous concerts followed, often also in pubs, train stations or on the street, in 1993 a CD “ New Music for Children's Piano” and in 2003 an SACD “Das Untemperierte Klavier”.

Christian Banasik , Oskar Gottlieb Blarr , Carlos Cruz de Castro , Ratko Delorko , Michael Denhoff , Oscar van Dillen and Andreas Kunstein composed for Bernd Wiesemann and his children's pianos .

Wiesemann's compositions for children's piano have been published by Verlag Dohr Cologne.

Bernd Wiesemann died on August 10, 2015 at the age of 77 in his hometown of Düsseldorf of a serious illness.

His daughter Mirjam Wiesemann works as an actress and author.
