Bernhard Eggers

Bernhard Eggers (born October 10, 1882 in Bremen , † October 27, 1937 in Osnabrück ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Eggers took part in the First World War as an officer . From 1919 he worked in the tax department of the Reich Finance Administration, from 1922 worked as a tax officer in Osnabrück and in 1926 became head of the tax office in Blumenthal near Bremen. After he had previously been a member of the DNVP , he ran as the top candidate of the NSDAP in the municipal council elections in 1933.

In March 1933, he was appointed president of the Osnabrück administrative district . Previously, the previous district president Adolf Sonnenschein (center) had been forced into temporary retirement. Immediately after taking office, he helped set up the system of concentration camps in the Emsland . On April 1, he removed the mayor of Fürstenau, Bernhard Haverkamp, by taking a leave of absence.

Bernhard Eggers died in October 1937. Wilhelm Rodenberg took over the office of Osnabrück District President .
