Bernhard Hoff (born January 10, 1959 in Wolfen ) is a German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the GDR - was a successful sprinter in the 1970s and 1980s .

1st place over 200 m with a European record (20.59 s) and with the 4 × 400 m relay, 2nd place with the 4 × 100 m relay, 3rd place over 100 m,

4th place over 200 m,

5th place over 200 m and with the 4 × 100 m relay,

2nd place with the 4 × 100 m relay

  • GDR champion over 200 m: 1977, 1979, 1980
  • Best time over 200 m: 20.39 s, run in Cottbus in 1980

Bernhard Hoff studied industrial electronics and worked as a technologist for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. After the end of the GDR he became an employee in a computer system house in Stavenhagen . Bernhard Hoff started for the SC Chemie Halle and trained together with Eugen Ray and Jörg Pfeifer with Dietmar Falgowski . During his competition time he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 70 kg.
