Bernhard Hollemann
Bernhard Hollemann (born August 1, 1935 in Borsum , Hildesheim district ; † March 26, 2020 in Horn (Lower Austria) ) was an Austrian painter and draftsman.
Life
Bernhard Hollemann grew up in Lower Saxony and came to Austria to study in 1959. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with professors RC Andersen and H. Boeckl and graduated with a diploma (Mag. Art.). In 1973 he became an Austrian citizen, and in 1989 he was awarded the title of Professor.
Until 2005 he lived in Baden near Vienna, since 2006 he lived in Limberg near Maissau in the Weinviertel.
Hollemann took part in international art fairs and competitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Monaco, Bulgaria, Romania and in numerous international symposia in Austria, Bulgaria and Macedonia. He was a member of the Künstlerhaus Wien , the Upper Austrian Art Association Linz and the Art Association Baden.
Awards
Bernhard Hollemann has received many awards. In 1978 he received the Exhibition Prize of the City of Vienna, in 1983 the Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria , in 1985 the Golden Medal of Honor of the Künstlerhaus, Vienna, in 1986 the Theodor Körner Prize , in the same year the 1st prize in the Federal Ministry's graphic competition for teaching and art, Hommage à Kokoschka, 1988 the Prize of the State of Vorarlberg at the 21st Austrian. Graphics competition, 1991 the Culture Prize of the City of Baden, 1995 the Grand Prix, the Golden Aesop at the 12th International Biennale for Humor and Satire, Gabrovo, Bulgaria, 2000 the 1st prize Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci Concorso Internazionale “Ex libris Leonardo da Vinci 2000 “, Vinci, Italy, 2005 the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria , in 2007 the Künstlerhaus Vienna honored him with the Golden Laurel for Lifetime Achievement and in 2010 the City of Baden awarded him the Kaiser Friedrich Medal.
