Bernhard Patzak

Bernhard Patzak (born August 21, 1873 in Liegnitz , province of Silesia ; † October 31, 1933 in Bad Landeck , district of Glatz ) was a German art historian who taught at the University of Breslau .

Life

Bernhard Patzak, son of Joseph Patzak, chimney sweep, and Emma b. Hoyer, studied art history, modern languages ​​and literature in Breslau and Innsbruck. During his studies he became a member of the KDStV Winfridia Breslau in the CV in 1896 . Patzak received his doctorate in Breslau in 1902 and completed his habilitation in the summer of 1908 . As a private lecturer, he initially researched Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and, from 1911, also researched Baroque architecture in Wroclaw. In 1914 he was made a non-official associate professor. He was often on leave for health reasons and died in 1933.
