Bernhard Scharold
Bernhard Scharold (born September 20, 1962 ) is a former German soccer player and coach .
Career
Bernhard Scharold played for ASV Herzogenaurach and was appointed to the junior national teams of the DFB . In 1981 he was part of the squad of the U-20 juniors in Germany who won the title at the World Cup in Australia . However, Scharold remained without commitment. Subsequently, the defensive midfielder received a professional contract with Hamburger SV . There Scharold could not prevail against Thomas von Heesen , Michael Schröder , Jimmy Hartwig and Jürgen Groh , but became German champion in 1982 with HSV . He then went to TSV 1860 Munich after a move to SG Union Solingen had failed . Finally he returned to Herzogenaurach. In 1996 he worked as a player coach at DJK Concordia Hallerndorf and made it to the A class with the club. Today Scharold works as an industrial clerk in his hometown.
