Checkmate in 7 moves

Template: checkerboard / maintenance / new

Solution:
1. Bb2 (threatens Ba3 + and mate) 1.… Be7 2. Ba3 Bxa3 3. b4 Bxb4 4. e7 + Bxe7 5. Nb3 Bc5 6. Nxc5 and Nxd7 mate . If Black plays 5.… Ba3, then 6. Nd4 and Ne6 mate.

White has to clear the b3 square for his knight . So that this can be done without losing speed, the black bishop is directed to a3 under sacrifice . Then the Be6 still has to sacrifice himself in order to clear his field for the knight.
