from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Max Bernhard Seyfert (born November 3, 1865 in Chemnitz ; † before 1950) was a German history teacher and author of many history textbooks between 1905 and 1936 in Saxony. He also held the title of professor.

Seyfert, the son of a mechanical engineer, began his career with an apprenticeship as a primary school teacher in Zschopau from 1880 to 1886. He then studied at the University of Leipzig from 1889 and obtained his doctorate in 1894 on a music-historical topic on German songs. As a teacher of German and history, he taught in Leipzig with a German national attitude that was customary at the time. In 1922 he was teacher at the First Secondary School at Leipzig and directed this school ( Friedrich-List-school ) to 1931 as a senior teacher and assistant principal. The Leipzig Education Authority commissioned the pensioner to supervise the private schools, which also included the Jewish secondary school. So in 1933 he was responsible for the implementation of the National Socialist school measures, whereby he tried a constitutional and correct procedure.
