Bernhard Sieverding

Bernhard Sieverding (born February 23, 1896 in Bakum ; † May 10, 1973 in Vechta ) was a German farmer and politician ( center ). From 1931 to 1933 he was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament .

Life

Sieverding was one of the founders of the Viehverwertungsgenossenschaft Vechta and the surrounding area, became a member of the board in 1923 and was its managing director from 1924 to 1969. In addition, from 1928 he was managing director of the Oldenburg Viehverwertungsverband and the Oldenburg Central Cooperative for Cattle Processing. In the 1920s, he succeeded Anton Themann as chairman of the small farmers' association in the Free State of Oldenburg . From 1931 to 1933 Sieverding was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament for the Center Party and a member of the Petitions Committee. Until his dismissal from all offices in 1933, he was a member of the Vechta District Council and the Bakum Municipal Council.

After 1933 Sieverding worked as a farmer in the rearing of beavers and pullets. On May 1, 1937, he joined the NSDAP . From 1939 to 1941 he did military service. In 1942 he was a member of the church committee.

Sieverding was arrested by the British occupying forces in 1945, spent a year in the Esterwegen internment camp and had to undergo a denazification process . He then took part in the establishment of the bank for small farmers and tenants.
