Bernhard Strauss (psychologist)

Bernhard Strauss (born June 3, 1956 in Nuremberg ) is a German psychologist , psychoanalyst , group analyst and university professor .

Life

After studying at the University of Konstanz , Strauss was a research assistant at the department for sex research at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf until 1986 . He did his doctorate on time series analysis at the University of Hamburg . After five years in Kiel, he completed his habilitation in 1991 with psychological examinations in sterility patients . In 1992 he took on a substitute professorship in Hamburg, and in 1996 he was appointed to the chair of medical psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena Clinic . Since 2003 he has been a member of the Academy of Charitable Sciences in Erfurt .

Services

Strauss is the author, editor and editor of numerous books, specialist journals (e.g. Psychotherapy Psychosomatics Medical Psychology ) and book series. He has several functions, including a. From 2004 to 2008 he was chairman of the German Society for Medical Psychology (DGMP) and was President of the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) in 2008/2009 . In 2011 he was elected to the DFG graduate degree in the field of clinical, differential and diagnostic psychology, medical psychology. He also teaches regularly as a guest lecturer at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna. His research interests are psychotherapy research, clinical sex research, studies on disease management, clinical attachment research, psychosomatics in transplant medicine, psychosomatics in reproductive medicine, psycho-oncology and psychodiagnostics.
