Bernhard Vošicky (born March 12, 1983 in Ottakring , Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist , musician , actor and radio host at ORF Radio Vienna .

Life

Family and education

Bernhard Vošicky was born on March 12, 1983 in Ottakring as the son of the doctor Karl Vošicky and the nurse Monika Vošicky and grew up in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna. He has two siblings and is the father of a daughter. Vošicky lives in his hometown Vienna. His uncle is the priest monk of the same name, Bernhard Vošicky .

Vošicky completed a musical school in Vienna with the Matura and after completing basic military service in the Austrian capital, began studying musicology and graduated in 2008 with a Mag. Phil. completed.

Professional background

Bernhard Vošicky began his radio career in 2003 as an intern at the Viennese private broadcaster Radio Arabella , where he moderated the morning and afternoon shows until 2014, among other things with “Klartext für Wien” or “4 für Wien”. He has been with ORF Radio Wien since May 2014 , where he moderates the programs “Guten Morgen Wien” and “Radio Wien Magazin” as well as various other programs (e.g. “Radio Wien Sportmagazin”) on weekends.

In addition to moderation on the radio, Bernhard Vošicky regularly moderates events and concerts, including the 2018 Danube Island Festival .

Musical creation

Vošicky is the drummer and singer with the Viennese dialect band Herta11 and the folk music group Kellerberg Buam . With Herta11 he won the Austria-wide “Rock the Island Contest” in the category Pop / Rock in 2016.

"Project Silva"

In November 2016 he made a documentary about the treasure of Forrest Fenn in the USA together with video blogger Richard Haderer and director Katalin Hanappi . The film premiered in Vienna in 2016. The film production was financed by crowdfunding .
