Count Bernhard Wilhelm Helmut Karl von Schwerin (* July 21, 1831 in Busow , † February 18, 1906 in Ducherow ) was a large Prussian landowner and member of the Prussian manor house .

origin

Bernhard von Schwerin came from the Busow family of the Spantekow line (owned by the family since 1250) of this ancient noble family , originally from Mecklenburg , now mainly based in Western Pomerania . His father was the General Landschaftsrat and Lord of Ducherow, Mollwitz and Busow, Anklam district , Karl Christoph Adolf Georg von Schwerin (1780-1853); his mother was the second wife of his father, Elisabeth von Maltzahn (1797–1874).

Life

Bernhard von Schwerin was the fourth son of his father and was born on July 21, 1831 on his father's estate in Busow. He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John . At a young age (1853) he inherited his father's estates Ducherow, Mollwitz and Busow, which he managed until his death. He was also interested in political issues, which he was able to actively help shape in the last years of his life from 1904 to 1906. In 1904 he was sent to the Prussian mansion as a representative of his family, where the family had had the right to present to the Prussian mansion since October 12, 1855 .

Bernhard von Schwerin was married to Wally von Katte (1842-1931) since January 23, 1861 . The marriage gave birth to two sons, of whom the older, Ulrich, inherited the paternal property, while the younger, Friedrich, entered the Prussian court service and became chamberlain and court marshal . Bernhard von Schwerin died on February 18, 1906 on his estate in Ducherow.
