Singing asks: How can our world become sustainable? What ethics can be used to justify this goal and certain ways to get there? In this context, he deals with economic and climate ethics and their anchoring in normative ethics. Many ideas are tapped for advantages and disadvantages, including: "Global Emissions Trading"; "Reform of Democracy / Advocates for Future Generations", "Consumption for a Better World", "Social Investments". This is reflected on the ethical level in topics such as: " Theory of democracy", "Problems of collective action", " Research on consequentialism " and "Consensus between types of ethics".

Singing considers it important to "interpret" scientific findings in everyday language. He therefore writes for important major newspapers (SZ, "Die Zeit", taz, FR, ...) and is also active as a non-fiction author, so he wrote the ethical introduction "Can I do this or do I even have to?".
