Bert Teuchert

Bert Teuchert (born September 1, 1966 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German heavyweight amateur boxer .

Career

The trained bricklayer was a regular soldier in the German Armed Forces and later a firefighter and martial arts trainer. He is around 1.90 m tall, boxed at AC Einigkeit Elmshorn in 1893 and was looked after by Paul Menczel. In 1987 he took 3rd place at the West German Championships and in 1988 2nd place after losing to Andreas Schnieders in the final .

In 1989 he also won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Athens and a bronze medal at the World Championships in Moscow . He was eliminated in the semifinals against Axel Schulz and Jewgeni Sudakow . After reunification he was also German champion in 1990, 1991 and 1992, defeating Peter Stettinger, René Monse and Erik Fuhrmann in the finals.

On a 3rd place at the Goodwill Games 1990 in Seattle , where he was again defeated against Yevgeny Sudakov, the 2nd place followed at the World Cup 1990 in Dublin . There he was eliminated in the final against Félix Savón . In 1992 he won the European Olympic qualification in Halle with a final victory against Željko Mavrović and then took part in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . After a preliminary round win against the Argentine Elio Ibarra, he lost again in the round of 16 against Félix Savón. In 1990 and 1993 he won the chemistry cup .

Teuchert is also German kickboxing champion in 1986 and 1987 .

Today Teuchert u. a. as a trainer for the BSV Freiburg.
