Bertha Schrader , also Berta Schrader (born June 11, 1845 in Memel , † May 11, 1920 in Dresden ), was a German painter , graphic artist and lithographer .

Life

Bertha Schrader was born in Memel, in today's Lithuania , grew up in Saint Petersburg and moved to Dresden in 1854. In Berlin and Dresden she studied with Paul Graeb and Paul Baum, among others, and increasingly worked with wood. Between 1882 and 1916 she was a member of the VdBK and exhibited there in 1882, 1884, 1886, 1888, 1892, 1894 and 1901. She was also chairwoman of the group of Dresden artists . She exhibited in Berlin, Dresden, Hanover , Hamburg and Bremen .
