Bertram Karl Steiner

Bertram Karl Steiner (* 1948 in Neunkirchen , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian cultural journalist and author who works in Carinthia .

Life

Bertram Karl Steiner was born in 1948 as the only son of the Austrian artist Karl Steiner (artist, 1902) and Marianne Singer in Neunkirchen in Lower Austria and studied history and Romance studies at the University of Vienna . After completing his studies, he had a teaching position for Austrian regional studies at the University of Brest . He wrote as head of the cultural department for the Carinthian daily newspaper . He translates from French into German. Steiner has written a number of books on regional studies and has contributed to exhibition catalogs for Ute Aschbacher, Gabriele Schurian and Zoran Mušič .

In 2010 Steiner received the single player award , which honors the advocacy of the Slovenian ethnic group in Austria. According to Steiner, the productive literary tension of bilingualism is evident in Maja Haderlap, who was awarded the Bachmann Prize in 2011 .
