The Employees' Association for Industry, Commerce and Services (BIGD) is a trade union in the Christian Trade Union Confederation based in Duisburg . It is looked after by the office of the Christian Metal Union of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The BIGD was founded in Duisburg in summer 2003. Their membership numbers are not known. The chairman is Günter Eickmeier.

The Duisburg Labor Court ruled on August 22, 2012 that the BIGD was not subject to tariff and was not subject to tariff on January 1, 2010 either. The association is particularly lacking in collective bargaining power.

The BIGD fights for a free trade union system and rejects functional rule of the DGB trade unions . She strives for more co-determination in the companies. It also represents its members in all areas of collective bargaining, labor and social law. She calls for fair wages for women workers and opposes all forms of discrimination .

The BIGD does not charge any fixed contributions apart from a minimum contribution. Members can determine their own contribution. However, the union's benefits, such as strike pay and leisure time accident insurance, including daily hospital allowance and death benefit, depend on the contribution. It offers its members legal protection in all disputes before the labor and social courts. The BIGD has several company groups and works council mandates.

The 2nd Federal Trade Union Day took place on November 8, 2008 in Duisburg. On October 18, 2013, the first extraordinary federal trade union day took place in Duisburg, as the previous federal chairman of the BIGD had to resign for health reasons. The delegates elected a new main board consisting of six members.

The ZDF television magazine Frontal21 claimed in the broadcast on February 8, 2011 that ARTOS Beteiligungen und Management GmbH from Dortmund had arranged membership in the BIGD for thousands of employees from their temporary employment agencies . In addition, the BIGD has agreed to a company collective agreement with an hourly wage of 4.81 euros. The CGB and the Christian Metalworkers Union NRW accused Frontal21 of bad research: The BIGD was not aware of more than 1,500 recruited members in the ARTOS group of companies. Due to dumping wages of 4.81 euros, the BIGD terminated the collective bargaining partnership with the ARTOS Group in mid-2006.
