The Christian Union for Mining, Chemistry and Energy (CGBCE) is a trade union for mining, chemistry and energy in Germany. It is part of the umbrella organization of the Christian Trade Union Federation and has its seat in Saarbrücken . The federal chairman is Werner Benedix from Otterstadt. The union had around 22,500 members in 2008. The competitor IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie , on the other hand , stated in its 2011 newsletter that the CGBCE only had 15,000 members.
In the newly elected works council of BASF AG in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , she was able to win 3 out of 53 seats against the IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie .
