Bessi (spelling variant: Besse ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, around 1120 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 691.

geography

Bessi is located in the West Coast Region , Foni Brefet District , on the South Bank Road between Sutusinjang and Somita . The place is about 6.5 kilometers west of Somita and 2.8 kilometers east of Sutusinjang. At Bessi, a road goes north towards Brefet .

Culture and sights

At Bessi, a tree for circumcision is known as a place of worship under the name Besse-Bire / Sankiliba .
