Best Coast is an American rock band from Los Angeles , California .

history

The band was founded in 2009 by Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno in Los Angeles. In the same year, the first single Sun Was High (And So Was I) was released.

After further singles and EPs, the first long player Crazy for You was released in July 2010 on the Mexican Summer label. In May 2012 the second album The Only Place followed , in October 2013 Fade Away on Jewel City. In May 2015 the album California Nights was released on Harvest Records .

style

According to Cosentino, The Beatles , The Beach Boys, and pop music from the 1950s and 1960s originally served as sources of inspiration for Best Coast's musical style. Musical role models were also The Ramones , Phil Spector and Fleetwood Mac . Best Coast is mostly assigned to the genres of surf music , garage rock and lo-fi .
