Bettina Wischhöfer
Bettina Wischhöfer (born February 3, 1961 in Bielefeld ) is a German archivist and historian . She is the director of the regional church archive in Kassel .
Life
Bettina Wischhöfer studied linguistics, literature, history and philosophy at Bielefeld University (1981–1986). After completing her studies, she was a research assistant at the Institute for Population Research and Social Policy (IBS). She completed her doctorate in 1990 on the subject of “Illness, Health and Society in the Enlightenment”. The example of Lippe 1750 - 1830 ”at Bielefeld University.
She then completed an archive traineeship at the Detmold State Archives, the Koblenz Federal Archives and the Marburg Archives School from 1991 to 1993.
In 1993 Wischhöfer contributed to the conception and construction of a central archive for the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck . In 1994 she took over the management of the newly founded regional church archive in Kassel.
In 2001, together with Frank-Roland Klaube and Christina Vanja , she set up the Kasseler Archives working group on the occasion of the first nationwide Archive Day . From 2006 the working group “Archives in North Hesse” developed, of which Wischhöfer was chairman from 2012 to 2014.
She is a member of the Historical Commission for Hesse , on the advisory board of the Hessian Church History Association and the supervisory board of the Kirchenbuchportal GmbH, which operates the Archion portal . From 2004 to 2016 she was head of the Association of Church Archives at the EKD level. Since May 2016 she has been chairwoman of the Working Group of Archives and Libraries in the Protestant Church (AABevK).
