Betty Blitzkrieg (real name David Sobol ) is a German rock musician, music producer and DJ.

Career

Betty Blitzkrieg is the project of the Munich musician, producer, songwriter and DJ David Sobol. In 2006 he was still one of the producers of the singer Sha . In 2009 he was on stage himself as the fictional character Betty Blitzkrieg with a weird art biography. " We celebrate differently" was released as a single in 2009 , which made it into the German charts.

In 2010 he released the album Voodookind with provocative lyrics and punk music borrowed from the 80s from Falco and the Neue Deutsche Welle. The album also includes a collaboration with techno DJ Westbam .

The album, declared as an art campaign against the practices of the German music industry, also contains the manuscript on the CD in digital form: "Book against the Machine - The fairy tale of Rock 'n' Roll in Germany".

Before the release, Betty Blitzkrieg and his live band were part of the “All Eyes On” campaign of the music channel MTV in 2009 .

In 2010 the band was seen on " The Dome - Vol. 53". During his performance, the singer smashed his electric guitar in front of the cameras.

The live band consisted of the drummer "Dieter Energie", who always appeared with a He-Man mask and hood, and the mannequin "Liselotte Lust".

Shortly after the album was released, the band disappeared from the public. In 2016, a previously unpublished song entitled “Disko is the new punk” appeared on various social media channels. The video shows a wild collage of dance scenes from various old film classics and cartoons.

On the album, in addition to the title song "Scheiss drauf", the girl gang on RTL 2 , a track together with the Atzen ( Frauenarzt and Manny Marc ) is released as a single.

The album also includes a cover version of the Falco classic " Rock me Amadeus ". The song was not released as a regular single, but was available as a free download. The video for the song consists of private tour and live recordings.

Band founder David Sobol is still successful today as a music and media producer, songwriter and DJ and also as a ghostwriter under various pseudonyms . Among other things, he has worked as a composer, producer and studio musician for the German dance project Groove Coverage since 2006 . The band sold over 13 million records worldwide. Sobol has been involved in 7 of the band's songs so far. Including the top 20 hits "On the Radio" (2006) and "Angeline" (2011).

In 2018 he produced the single "Tunnel" for Fantastischen Vier , which appeared on the album " Captain Fantastic ".

In addition to his work as a composer, producer and DJ, Sobol has been working on abstract art since 2014, which he has been presenting and exhibiting on his own website for some time.
