The Beune (French: Ruisseau de la Beune ) is a river in France that runs in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in the Doubs and Haute-Saône departments .
geography
The Beune rises from a karst spring southeast of Rougemontot in the Doubs department. It is a cave in the limestone rock below Départementsstraße 23 on the left slope of the valley. The cave portal is about 5 meters high. The accessible cave has two bends and ends after about 20 meters at a limestone tufa waterfall . There is a flooded basin above this waterfall. Behind it are siphons and constrictions. The source can have a high bed .
The Beune flows through Rougemontot in a north-westerly direction and parallel to Départementsstraße 23 to Cendrey . There it crosses the departmental border to Haute-Saône for about 250 m and flows north of the village as a left tributary into the Ognon .
