Bewitched is a Swedish black and thrash metal band from Umeå that was founded in 1995.
history
The band was formed in 1995. In the same year they recorded the Hellspell demo and thereby achieved a contract with Osmose Productions . The debut album Diabolical Desecration was recorded in the same year and released the following year. 1996 followed a tour through Europe together with Ancient Rites , Sacramentum and Enthroned . In the same year also the EP Encyclopedia of Evil was released .
In 1997 the second album Pentagram Prayer followed . In addition, guitarist Blackheim left the band. Another tour followed with Enslaved , Dark Tranquility , Swordmaster , Demoniac and Dellamorte . This was followed by the recordings of the live album Hell Comes to Essen , which was released the following year. In 1998 the band also played at Dynamo Open Air . The next album At the Gates of Hell followed in 1999. In addition, the band played at the Wacken Open Air , as well as an appearance in Mexico City . In 2000 guitarist Hellfire joined the band. The next album followed in 2002 and was called Rise of the Antichrist . The band also played at the San Open Air party . In 2003 the band signed a contract with Regain Records and released the EP Atrocities in A-Minor through this label .
The last album so far was released in 2006 and was called Spiritual Warfare .
style
The band plays a mixture of black and thrash metal, with the works being described as "primitive". The songs often move at a medium tempo, with the use of double bass being characteristic.
