Regain Records is a record label from Sweden that mainly has metal and hard rock bands under contract. It was founded by Per Gyllenbäck after Wrong Again Records broke up. The label is based in Malmö .

history

Regain Records was created in 1997 from the remnants of the record company Wrong Again Records, which stopped releasing albums at the beginning of the year. Wrong Again Records had bands like In Flames , Cryptopsy and Arch Enemy under contract.

The first releases appeared in late 1997, the records High in Blood by Deranged and Amorous Anathema by Embraced. The first two years, however, were not easy for the label due to poor distribution channels. Only the re-release of the first two In Flames albums Lunar Strain and Subterranean and the 1999 collaboration with the black metal band Marduk brought success.

Today Regain Records is one of the leading record labels for extreme metal and has some of the most important bands of the respective genres under contract with Grave and Dismember from the death metal sector or Gorgoroth and Dark Funeral from the black metal genre.

In Germany, the label's publications are brought onto the market through the distribution of Sony Music and Soulfood .

In 2011, Regain Records filed for bankruptcy after completing Gorgoroth's Under the Sign of Hell in 2011 .
