Biberach is a part of the municipality of Roggenburg and is located in the district of Neu-Ulm in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .

location

The eponymous Biber flows through Biberach . Hof Wenenden is located on the 2019 state road with a view of the Bibertal. In 1825 the Dirrfelden farm was parish off to Biberach. It lies on the wooded ridge between the Biber Valley and the Roth Valley .

history

A castle is said to have stood behind the church . In 1490 there were already 58 fireplaces in the village, around 1820 there were 64 houses with 359 residents. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the village belonged almost entirely to Roggenburg Abbey .

On July 1, 1972, Biberach was incorporated into the new community of Roggenburg.

church

The parish church is consecrated to Saint Sebastian and Saint Ottilia . It has a Gothic choir and a saddle tower. It received its early Classicist furnishings in 1787.

As early as 1398 the church was incorporated into the Roggenburg Abbey . In 1804, after the monastery was secularized , Biberach became its own parish again .
