Bibi Besch

Bibi Besch (born February 1, 1942 in Vienna as Bibiana Maria Köchert , † September 7, 1996 in Los Angeles , California ) was an Austrian - American actress .

She was the daughter of the racing driver Gotfrid Köchert and the film and Burgtheater actress Gusti Huber .

She became internationally known for her role as a scientist and ex-girlfriend of Captain Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan as well as numerous guest appearances in US series. Her work since the 1960s includes more than 100 productions for film and television.

In 1992 and 1993 she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award . In 1984, she received a Golden Raspberry nomination in the Worst Supporting Actress category for her role in the film Career Through All Beds .

Since 1990 she has been involved in various committees in the Screen Actors Guild .

Bibi Besch died of breast cancer on September 7, 1996 in Los Angeles at the age of 54 .

Her daughter Samantha Mathis is also an actress.
