The Bichelweiher is a former mill pond in the municipality of Wasserburg (Lake Constance) and is located in the Bichelweiher and Bichelweihermoos nature reserve , which also extends to the neighboring municipality of Bodolz to the east . The nature reserve established in 1977 covers almost 13 hectares. Above all, the wide reed belt in the northeastern border area to the Bichelweihermoos is resting and breeding place for some rare bird species; The amphibian fauna and the occurrence of plants worthy of protection are also remarkable. The mill is part of an extensive ensemble of agricultural buildings that were built in the 17th century. Since 1572 different lines of the Fugger owned the rule Wasserburg.

The Bichelweiher is 170 meters long and half as wide, and has an area of ​​around 8,000 m² (0.8  hectares ). It is named after the nearby hamlet of Bichel and is 401 meters above sea level. It drains over the Eschbach over a distance of 1780 meters into Lake Constance , which is four meters lower and 835 meters as the crow flies . Tributaries are the Mühlebach and the Rückelebach.
