Bilawal Bhutto Zardari (born September 21, 1988 ; Urdu بلاول بھٹو زرداری; Birth name: Bilawal Zardari ) is a Pakistani politician . He ran as a candidate in the 2018 parliamentary elections .

He is the only son of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and the politician Asif Ali Zardari , and the grandson of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto .

His two sisters, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, do volunteer work. Aseefa is also a candidate for the 2018 parliamentary elections.

Since his mother fled into exile with him and his two younger sisters in 1999, he grew up without his father, who was in prison, in London and Dubai , where he also attended school.

education

Bhutto Zardari studied at Christ Church College of Oxford University Modern History and Politics (Modern history and politics), which he completed in June of 2010. In 2012 he did a Bachelor of Arts . In 2015, like his mother, he completed his Masters degree at Oxford

Political career

The then opposition Pakistani People's Party (PPP) appointed 19-year-old Bhutto Zardari as the new party leader on December 30, 2007 after its chairman Benazir Bhutto was murdered in an attack on December 27, 2007. His father Asif Ali Zardari was appointed co-party chairman. In the elections on February 18, 2008, the PPP was able to win a relative majority. From 2008 to 2013, Bilawal's father was President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan .
