The little picture house is getting old (2019) and urgently needs a restoration (most recently probably 2000). Nevertheless, due to its special location and the graceful appearance, it is always a starting point for Westerwald hikers between the surrounding small villages in the extensive Westerwald, located in the state forest of Burglahr / Peterslahr / Obersteinebach .

This location is shrouded in legend around a knight maiden from days long gone. The story of this can be read on the sign next to it: The fair girl is the daughter of the knight from Lahr, so the story goes, and her centuries-long life story is reminiscent of the fairy tale about the frog king , but here in the shape of a toad .
