Bill Dale

Bill Dale (actually William Atheling Dale; born March 29, 1917 in Morse , Saskatchewan ; † May 4, 2010 ) was a Canadian middle-distance runner who was used because of his sprint strength in the 4-by-400-meter relay .

At the British Empire Games in Sydney in 1938 , he won bronze over 880 yards and won the Canadian four-by-440-yard relay.

On June 21, 1939, he set his personal best in Berkeley over 880 yards of 1: 51.5 minutes (corresponds to 1: 50.8 minutes over 800 m ).
