Bill Farmer

William Robert "Bill" Farmer (born July 8, 1959 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand racing driver .

Career

Bill Farmer was active in Australian and New Zealand touring car racing for many years and also competed in international endurance races in the 1990s . In 1996 he contested both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24-hour race at Le Mans . In Daytona , the engine on the Porsche 911 GT2 failed after 437 laps . At Le Mans he went into the race again with his compatriot Greg Murphy and Robert Nearn in a Porsche 911 GT2 and achieved 14th place in the overall classification.

Robert Nearn was also his team partner in his best placement in sports car racing. The third driver in the 1995 Paris 1000 km race was Paul Edwards . Two laps behind Stefan Oberndorfer and Detlef Hübner , the trio finished second overall.
